Who Do We Help?

The Clinic's services are available, free of charge, to those who meet
the following three criteria.

You meet the financial eligibility guideline* set by Legal Aid
Ontario.

You live in the county of Windsor-Essex.

Your legal problem falls within one of the areas of law that we
work in.

*You meet the financial guideline if your income is from  Ontario
Works or Ontario Disability. If your income is  from another source
contact us to see if you meet the financial guideline.

You will be screened during your initial call to determine if you meet
the financial guidelines. Although we cannot help you, we might be
able to refer you to an organization that may be able to assist you.

How Much Do Your Services Cost?

If the clients are successful in their appeal, they have to reimburse the
clinic for the legal disbursements paid on their behalf.

What Type of Help Can I Get?

The clinic works in only certain areas of the law. They are:

Canada Pension Plan (CPP)  and Old Age Security
Employment Law
Human Rights
Immigration
ODSP
Wrongful Dismissal
WSIB (Workers' Compensation)
Non-profit incorporation

We
do not practice in the areas of family law or criminal law instead you must obtain a legal aid certificate from the local Legal Aid Office.
With this certificate you can retain the services of a
private bar
lawyer
.
